5 Potential WrestleMania 37 Adversaries for AJ Styles

5 Potential WrestleMania 37 Adversaries for AJ Styles
AJ Styles has played a significant game at WrestleMania every year since he joined WWE. Styles has had five WrestleMania appearances so far and has confronted Chris Jericho, Shane McMahon, Shinsuke Nakamura, Randy Orton, and The Undertaker.

AJ Styles is 3-2 at The Greatest Stage of It All and has always been used as a primary main event performer for WWE. Yet he doesn't seem to have a WrestleMania 37 match in progress.

There's no rumor at WrestleMania 37 about a potential opponent. It's a bit odd, not only because AJ Styles is a top-tier star, but WrestleMania 37 is going to be a two-day event.

Although it's not going to be a six-hour show (in one sitting) like it used to be, one would think that WWE could easily place AJ Styles on the card.

Last year was probably his most important WrestleMania match, as he was the final opponent of The Undertaker in their acclaimed Boneyard Match. It also meant that AJ Styles added the WrestleMania main event to his abstract.

Here are 5 possible opponents of The Phenomenal One in WrestleMania 37.

Another United States Title opportunity for AJ Styles

Surprisingly, AJ Styles had no success with RAW. SmackDown has always been the brand that started it all, and the period from 2016 to 2019 is considered one of the best in the Blue Brand's history.

The most successful AJ Styles found on RAW was the reign of the United States Championship in 2019. Right now, [Matt] Riddle is the man who holds the United States Title, and he may be the champion of WrestleMania.

Since Riddle is one of the younger stars on the roster, he may have a high-profile WrestleMania match. AJ Styles will be the ideal opponent, and Riddle doesn't have to win the match.

Only being an AJ Styles opponent at WrestleMania will help raise Riddle. It would be a good place for Styles, and perhaps even more important than facing a bigger brand.

AJ Styles' 2020 opponent is Jeff Hardy

Before SummerSlam 2020, Jeff Hardy beat AJ Styles to win the Intercontinental Championship. His time on RAW, on the other hand, has been a bit of a letdown. Jeff Hardy seems to be low on WWE's priority list recently, only feuding with Elias.

Even so, Jeff Hardy can recover his momentum with only a few successful matches. We've seen sparks of brilliance, but WWE must present the chance. Both Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles are on RAW and will not be competing at WrestleMania.

Although this may not be the most tempting match for AJ Styles in 2021, an added stipulation could spice things up and make the match more exciting. If the two met at WrestleMania, it will almost certainly be their best match to date.

There should be a lot of money on the line. The match at WrestleMania may be perceived as a "cool down" bout if the two are merely feuding for the sake of feuding.

Given that Jeff Hardy might not be making many more WrestleMania appearances, a match against AJ Styles would be a nice gesture from WWE.

AJ Styles and Keith Lee could offer a great WrestleMania

AJ Styles and Keith Lee haven't crossed many of the RAW paths, but they played in the Sudden Death Triple Threat game to decide Drew McIntyre's WWE title challenger back in November 2020.

Keith Lee was scheduled to play for the U.S. title at the Elimination Chamber in February, and to some, he was the favorite to win it.

He was silently deleted for unexplained reasons, however, and just sent out a tweet telling the fans he missed them. If he's coming back in March, he's supposed to have a slot on the WrestleMania 37 card. And AJ Styles would have been a great debut opponent.

WWE was driving Keith Lee hard, and earlier this year he also claimed the World title. However, AJ Styles could be a huge fire that leads to WrestleMania where Keith Lee will possibly take over.

With an eye on the future, it would be a perfect match, and it could help to set up Keith Lee.

The match with AJ Styles was not entirely done

We theoretically had Drew McIntyre versus AJ Styles on TLC, but the cash-in on the Miz MITB turned it into a triple menace match. The match between Drew McIntyre and AJ Styles was decent in itself, and the Scotsman's title defense was brilliant.

We accept that AJ Styles vs Drew McIntyre is the least similar WrestleMania 37 address on this list since it is anticipated that the former is competing for the WWE championship.

The leadership might be the Drew McIntyre vs Bobby Lashley, and the RAW indication was that the Scotsman would contest the title. However, if WWE has Brock Lesnar back, it's Bobby Lashley's perfect opponent. It's a more marketable combination.

If so, WWE will need to work quickly in the coming month on including Drew McIntyre with AJ Styles.

A complete match between the two of us could not be seen. But as Drew McIntyre lifted the standard in the last year, the show could be stolen from a match against AJ Styles.

AJ Styles adds another feather to his WrestleMania hat

Triple H doesn't seem to be as interested in winning as much. Keeping in mind that he was 'glad' not to participate at WrestleMania 36, his focus shifted to being a full-time office guy.

However, Triple H wouldn't be the first legend to persuade AJ Styles of a WrestleMania match. The Undertaker admitted that he refused AJ Styles at first, but went on to face him in his final career.

This might not be the final Triple H game at WrestleMania, but it may be one of them. Right now, there aren't too many Superstars who would be the perfect match for Triple H at WrestleMania 37. But AJ Styles is at a high enough standard.

Triple H's last foe, WrestleMania, was Batista, where he ended up withdrawing his old competitor. It would be fascinating to see who would win a game between AJ Styles and Triple H. Their encounter will be a great match for the two-day WrestleMania 37 series.
